Previous Sessions

In the past sessions of acting we have had we have learnt about the technique called "What if" this technique was discovered by constantine stanislavski, and by learning this technique it helps us figure out who our character are and how they relate to ourselves.

After this we got taught about Objective, Obstacle and tactic, which what we did to relate with this is we got into pairs and we had an object and a piece of paper with a word on it and our partner had to think of convincing sentance to make us give them that object.

From this we got given a Dualogue in different pairs but they were male dualogues, we had to read through them but they were funny dualogues, mine and nicoles dualogue was about a one-legged man going for an audition for tarzan, but we changed it to a one-legged woman auditioning for cinderella. I was the one-legged woman, and when I performed my character, I was hopping to the chair and I fell over and the audience thought it was part of the performance.

In the next lesson we had got given a few monolugues and we got put in two groups, female and male, and we read the monolugue and then spoke the monologue but not in character within our groups, then we chose what monologue we wanted to memorize and then with nicole and lisa who wanted to memorize the same monologue, we had to come up with two scenes of  a before storyline and then an after storyline that didnt relate with the storyline in our monologue.
We got set this our homework and we got given a sheet of paper with questions on it to helps us create a realistic character.
